THE HAIR COMMENTS
Your hair is a sight to see! I have had some amazing comments!
Jaundice
You really are the cutest baby EVER! I didn't mention that you had jaundice really bad when you were born, we were given the billy blanket and the billy bed. It was sad and hard for me. I had to lay you on the bed as much as I could, I was really worried, I couldn't hold you unless I had a the blanket on your back.. my heart was really sad, and you will come to learn that I worry, I worried everyday, I had to take you to get your heal pricked. That lasted for about a week, you were so sweet no crying, but just a little pucker lip, that's all. The doctors would call me every morning to see how much you peed and pooed the night before. Your tests were quite high, but eventually went down. The bed looked like a mini tanning bed, and you were quite tan. With the hair and the tan you were a looker, so handsome.
March 18th
my water broke while I was at home.. ( we had just moved into a new house that your father had remodeled the entire upstairs in about 3 weeks so that we could be in there before you came)
Oz and mommy
1 day old
We only lived about 2 blocks from the hospital, so the drive was fast. When I checked in I was not dilated at all. The nurse said that I was going to be there for quite a long time and hoped that I was ready. I really wanted to deliver you natural and I tried for about 9hours. ( I had even convinced your dad to take a lamas class with me) After nine hours I had felt enough pain from the contractions and decided to get an epidural, the doctor told me that I was going to be in it for the long haul. After getting the epidural your father and I were finally able to rest, your dad sleeping on the pull out sofa, and me passed out on the hospital bed, this was at about 9:00am at 10:30am I asked the doctor to check me, and she was shocked to say that I was complete. I was at a 10 and ready to deliver. I had to wake your father and tell him I was going to have this baby. They called the doctor and told him that he better hurry. The nurse had told me to stop pushing because the doc wasn't there yet. The first thing we saw was the hair, you had so much hair! I pushed for all of 28 minutes and you were here. It was amazing. You were only breathing at 80 percent so they put you on my chest and I kissed you and they rushed you to the nursery. The feelings were so overwhelming, your a miracle to us, and we feel so lucky to be your parents. I couldn't believe that I was a mother and you were my responsibility and most of all that our Heavenly Father had trusted me enough to send you here, for me to teach and to learn from. I do everyday, your such a sweet baby. I hope that I don't disappoint him or you.
He was born Mar 19th at 11:46 am after 30 minutes of pushing by his mom!

The beginning

Ozzy-
This is for you. I want you to know how special you are to me and how I never thought that I could love someone so much. I want you to be able to look back at this and know that your parents love you so much. I also hope that you will be able to look back and see how important family is in your life. Please remember that your father and I will never ever forget the day that you let us become parents.
Your father and I had been married for 4 years when we decided that it was time to start a family, I had just finished school and had just got a job as a 2nd grade teacher and your father was fulfilling his dream of doing photography and video and was finally making a name for himself. The summer before I started teaching we were working together as river guides on the grand canyon. It was amazing.. such a fun time in our lives to be able to do this sort of work together and get paid to be in the most beautiful place. That is when I got pregnant.
I remember that I thought I was pregnant when we were mountain biking in whistler but I wasn't sure, when we came home I found out that I was 10 along.
I continued to teach while being pregnant and yes I was very sick up until about 25 weeks. After that I felt fine, I had plenty of energy and I loved that I was busy being a first year teacher.
